Beauty’s new beak

I was moved by the story of the bald eagle who got shot. Her upper beak was damaged with a gunshot wound. She was found several years ago when part of her beak was shot off. There were a team of volunteers who are working to attach an artificial beak to the bird to keep her alive.
She could not even eat or drink when they found her. Her nasals were exposed. All the rescuers did was to hang feed her and hoped in vain that her beak would grow back. This would change said Jane Cantwell, the operator of the raptor recovery center in Idaho. She spent that past 2 years assembling a team to design the beak and this May, Beauty will get her beak. She may live 50 years more but not in the wild. She will be needing assistance from humans from this time onwards.
Touching right? I just hope that there are more and more people who are willing to spend time to help save animals and I just wish that lesser people would try to kill a raptor.
