Cats & Dogs: Homeward bound
LiveScience - When a family pet gets lost, who would not panic? Of course everyone will. It’s like losing a family member. But then, if dogs go missing, there is a 71 percent chance that they could reunite with their owners as compared to cats who only has a slim chance of 53 percent to come back home.
Dogs seem to be easier to find. For one reason, almost all dogs have their tags and labels on. Some even have the chip inside them. When they wonder along the neighborhood, those who can find them will have to simply look at their labels and then they could already call their respective owners. Cats on the other hand are seldom labeled. This is because they easily get irritated by collars and the usually try their best to remove it. This poses a much deeper problem because they could also slip outside of the house and if they are not found, they might end up being squashed by vehicles. We all know that cats are pretty lousy when it comes to crossing the other side of the street.
As early as now, train your pets to wear their collars. You may never know when they will go missing. And, the moment that they have been gone and away from your sight from too long, look for them immediately and report their loss to authorities.
